Alior Konto 18-25 lat – a youth account with a bonus of up to PLN 500
Alior Konto 18-25 lat is Alior Bank's personal account offer aimed at people aged 18 to 25 – pupils, students and people starting their first job. It's a typical "starter" account: no monthly fee, free external transfers and a welcome bonus that can reach PLN 500 if you meet all the promotion's conditions. For many young people this is their first ever bank account, so beyond the raw numbers it's worth looking at how realistic the conditions for that extra money actually are.
Fees and charges
The account's main advantage is that it has no monthly maintenance fee at all, regardless of how active you are. This waiver is unconditional and doesn't expire after any introductory period, unlike some of the other fees described below. Domestic transfers to other banks ordered in online banking and the app are free too, with no extra conditions attached (at a branch or by phone such a transfer costs PLN 10).
The debit card attached to the account works differently. No card fee is charged in the month the card is issued. In the following months, to avoid a PLN 7 monthly fee, you need to make at least 5 cashless payments with the card or BLIK in that month (BLIK phone transfers don't count) – not a demanding condition, especially for someone who pays by card or phone daily anyway, but worth remembering, since unlike the account maintenance fee, the card fee waiver isn't permanent. A simple rule of thumb: as long as the card or BLIK is used for payments at least five times in a given month, no fee is charged.
Cash withdrawal fees depend on which ATM network you use:
- Alior Bank's own ATMs – withdrawals are always free,
- Euronet network ATMs – free for withdrawals of at least PLN 100, below that amount the bank charges PLN 6,
- other ATMs in Poland – a PLN 6 fee on every withdrawal.
This is a fairly unusual setup, where the ATM network alone isn't enough to avoid a fee – at Euronet machines you also need to withdraw a large enough amount in one go. In practice this means it's better to withdraw less often but in larger amounts than to take out small sums frequently – any withdrawal under PLN 100 at a Euronet machine, and any withdrawal at an ATM outside the Alior/Euronet networks, costs PLN 6. According to the bank's fee document, the bank charges no commission for cash withdrawals from ATMs abroad, although the ATM operator may add its own fee.
The PLN 500 bonus – how hard is it to get
The headline bonus amount is PLN 500, but in practice you have to "collect" it in stages spread over four months from account opening – it isn't a one-off bonus just for opening the account. The rewards come from the "Młodzi zyskują" promotion (applications from 16.02.2026 to 31.12.2026), which you join by entering the code BONUS500 in the application and giving marketing consents. It is open to adults who had not turned 26 on the day the agreement is signed and who have not held a personal account at Alior Bank in the last three years.
The first stage is the Tier-1 reward – PLN 200. To get it, within 10 days of opening the account you need to add the card to a digital wallet (Apple Pay or Google Pay) and make three transactions with it. That's a relatively easy step for young customers who usually pay by phone anyway, but it requires quick, deliberate action right after opening the account – 10 days isn't much time if you put off activating the wallet or if you're waiting for the physical card to arrive.
The second stage is the Tier-2 rewards – up to PLN 300, paid in instalments of PLN 100 for each of the three consecutive full calendar months that follow. To earn PLN 100 in a given month, you need to simultaneously:
- make 10 transactions with the card added to a digital wallet,
- log into the Alior Mobile app at least once,
- have a single incoming transfer of at least PLN 500 into the account from an account at another bank (or from a business account at Alior Bank).
This already requires consistency over three months in a row – if any single month misses even one of the three conditions (e.g. there's no required PLN 500 inflow because you don't have a regular job yet), you only lose that month's instalment, not the whole bonus. As an illustration: if in the first of the three months you manage 10 phone payments, log into the app and top up the account with PLN 500, you'll receive PLN 100. If in the second month only the inflow is missing (say, a payment arrives late), you only lose that one instalment – the other two months can still be earned separately. Realistically, the full PLN 500 is achievable, but it takes deliberate use of the account – paying by phone rather than the physical card – and keeping up a regular inflow for three months, which isn't always straightforward for a pupil or student without a steady income. This bonus rewards someone who uses the account systematically as their main account, more than someone who opens it "just in case" and forgets about it for a few months.
Features and the app
The account supports today's standard mobile payment methods: Apple Pay, Google Pay, BLIK and contactless NFC card payments. The card also allows online payments. For an 18-25-year-old customer who typically pays by phone more often than with a physical card, this is essentially the full set of payment methods they need. The account is managed through the Alior Mobile app, which is itself part of the bonus conditions – you need to log into it to avoid losing the monthly reward, so in practice using the app isn't an optional extra but part of day-to-day account management.
Who is this account for
Alior Konto 18-25 lat is aimed at people aged 18 to 25, and the promotion is open to those who had not turned 26 on the day the agreement is signed. It suits pupils and students who want a free account with no maintenance fee, mostly pay by phone or BLIK, and can keep up a modest, regular level of activity in the first few months to extract the full bonus. Anyone who doesn't use mobile payments and prefers a traditional physical card should expect not to earn the full PLN 500 – the bonus conditions are built around the digital wallet, not the card itself. The account is run under the Alior Konto tariff plan, whose fees as listed in the fee document do not depend on turning 26, so crossing that age does not by itself change the terms described above.
How to open the account
The account is opened the standard way – an online application with identity verification (e.g. a verification transfer or a selfie with an ID document, depending on the bank's current process), after which you activate the card and ideally add it to a digital wallet straight away, to make the 10-day deadline for the first bonus stage. It's worth checking directly in the Alior Mobile app that the card actually shows as added to Apple Pay or Google Pay – it's that specific step, not simply owning the card, that counts towards the bonus.
Pros and cons
Summary
Alior Konto 18-25 lat is a solid offer for young customers – PLN 0 for account maintenance, free external transfers, and a bonus that can reach PLN 500 with a bit of consistency. The key to getting the most out of the offer is using mobile payments (Apple Pay/Google Pay) instead of the physical card, and staying active on the account for the first four months – anyone who doesn't will still get a free account, but without most of the bonus. It's an offer worth considering primarily for people who plan to make this their main everyday account anyway, rather than just a secondary account opened solely for the bonus.
