Pożyczka Ekspresowa from Bank Pekao – who is this offer for

Pożyczka Ekspresowa is a cash loan product from Bank Pekao S.A., intended for any purpose – from renovation, through buying equipment, to financing a sudden expense need. The bank offers it both to new clients and to people who already have only an instalment loan with Pekao. This is a proposal for people looking for a flexible financing amount – from small sums of around a thousand zlotys, to loans reaching a quarter of a million zlotys, spread over up to 10 years of repayment.

Unlike purpose loans, such as mortgage or car loans, Pożyczka Ekspresowa does not require indicating and documenting the purpose of spending the funds – the bank only assesses the applicant's creditworthiness, not how the money will be used. Thanks to this, the product works well both for minor, ad-hoc expenses and for larger, multi-year financial plans, as long as the requested amount falls within the range offered by the bank.

Interest rate and APRC

The loan has a variable nominal interest rate of 7.80% per annum. The Annual Percentage Rate of Charge (APRC) – i.e. the indicator that takes into account all the costs of the loan, not just the interest rate itself – is 8.07%. It is the APRC, not the nominal rate alone, that is the reliable point of reference when comparing offers from different banks, because it also includes commissions and other fees related to granting the loan, not just the interest cost itself.

In this case, the difference between the nominal interest rate (7.80%) and the APRC (8.07%) is relatively small – just 0.27 percentage points. This is good news for the borrower: the smaller this difference, the fewer additional costs hidden in the APRC the client bears beyond the interest itself. In this case, this is mainly due to the lack of a loan origination commission.

Since the interest rate is variable, the size of the instalment may change throughout the loan term along with changes in market interest rates – worth keeping in mind when planning a household budget for the coming years of repayment. A variable interest rate means both the risk of the instalment rising if interest rates increase, and the chance of it decreasing, should rates fall.

Instalments are repaid on an equal instalment basis – each instalment (except the last, balancing one) is of a similar size throughout the repayment period, which makes household budget planning easier compared to decreasing instalments, where the first instalments are noticeably higher and subsequent ones gradually decrease.

Total cost – representative example

The bank provides a legally required representative example, calculated on 22 July 2026, which clearly shows the real cost of the loan for a specific amount: for a loan of PLN 6,599 over a period of 28 months, at a variable interest rate of 7.80% per annum, the total cost of the loan (interest alone, without additional fees) is PLN 640.06, and the total amount to repay is PLN 7,239.06. The loan is repaid in 27 monthly instalments of PLN 258.54 each, plus one balancing instalment of PLN 258.48.

It is worth emphasising – this is only a representative example under specific assumptions (a given amount and period), not a guarantee of identical terms for every client. The actual instalment, APRC and total cost depend on the loan amount, the chosen repayment period, and the bank's individual assessment of the applicant's creditworthiness.

A significant plus of this offer: the loan is commission-free – the bank does not charge any commission for granting it (0% and PLN 0), regardless of the requested amount. This genuinely lowers the total cost of financing compared to offers in which the commission is added to the loan amount and additionally accrues interest for the whole repayment period.

Requirements and collateral

The offer is available from PLN 1,000 to PLN 250,000, and the minimum age of the borrower is 18. The maximum repayment period is 120 months (10 years), with the actual available period depending on the requested amount:

  • from PLN 1,000 to PLN 2,999 – repayment period from 1 to 3 years
  • from PLN 3,000 to PLN 14,999 – repayment period from 1 to 8 years
  • from PLN 15,000 to PLN 250,000 – repayment period from 1 to 10 years

In other words, the higher the requested amount, the longer the maximum repayment period offered by the bank – people applying for small sums should expect a shorter, maximum three-year repayment horizon.

The bank does not require additional collateral in the form of insurance up to an amount of PLN 150,000, and spousal consent is not required up to an amount of PLN 70,000 – above these thresholds, the bank may expect additional formalities. For amounts up to PLN 30,000, documents can be accepted remotely in the Pekao24/PeoPay app, while for higher amounts the contract is signed in person at a bank branch.

The offer with the current interest rate is valid until 27 September 2026 and is aimed at new bank clients and people who have only an instalment loan with Pekao – for other clients, terms may differ, so it is worth verifying the current offer directly with the bank before applying.

How to apply

The loan application can be submitted via the bank's website – by filling in a complete online application or a contact form. The next step is to arrange to sign the contract at a branch or – in the remote process – to open a current account with access to Pekao24 and submit the loan application during a phone call with a bank employee. For amounts up to PLN 30,000, the entire process, including document acceptance, can take place remotely in the Pekao24/PeoPay app. The bank declares that funds are disbursed even within one day of signing the contract.
