PKO Konto Firmowe – who this account is for
PKO Konto Firmowe is a basic settlement account for sole proprietorships and small businesses, offered by PKO Bank Polski. It is aimed both at people just starting a business and at entrepreneurs who have been operating for a while — the bank varies its fee conditions depending on the company's age and the size of its monthly incoming payments. The account combines standard transactional banking (transfers, debit card, mobile app) with additional business tools such as online accounting and an online currency exchange.
Fees and charges
The fee for maintaining PKO Konto Firmowe ranges from PLN 0 to PLN 12 per month, and how much you actually pay depends on two factors. People who have been running a business for less than 12 months pay nothing for the first 6 months — unconditionally, with no additional criteria to meet. After that period, and also for businesses that have already been operating for more than a year, the account remains free provided that monthly incoming payments to the account amount to at least PLN 2,000. If this threshold is not met, the bank charges a fee of PLN 12 per month.
External transfers cost from PLN 0 to PLN 1.10 per transaction — so in practice some of your monthly transfers can be free, and above a certain limit the bank charges a small per-transaction fee. The account comes with a PKO Visa Business Electron card, which supports online payments, contactless payments and cashback. Withdrawing cash from a domestic ATM costs PLN 0 to PLN 5 (typically PLN 3.50), and the card fee itself ranges from PLN 0 to PLN 10 per month — but it is waived entirely if you make at least 5 card transactions in a given month. Withdrawals abroad are considerably more expensive: the fee is 3% of the amount withdrawn, but no less than PLN 10, so this card works best for domestic settlements and less so as a tool for withdrawing cash outside Poland.
Bonus and additional features
The bank advertises the account with a bonus of up to PLN 5,000, but it is worth pointing out right away: this is not a one-off bonus for simply opening the account, but the sum of five separate rewards, each requiring a different, specific condition to be met. Getting the full amount in practice means actively using several different bank products, not just the account itself.
- The largest part of the bonus, up to PLN 3,600, comes from a 5% cashback on non-cash transactions made with the Visa card linked to the business account. The cashback is credited in each of the three consecutive months after opening the account, up to PLN 1,200 per month, provided you spend at least PLN 2,000 on the card in that month. This is a realistic target for a business with regular non-cash payments, but it requires maintaining sufficient card turnover for three consecutive months.
- PLN 500 can be earned after signing a leasing agreement with PKO Leasing for a minimum of PLN 50,000 net and collecting the leased item — a condition available only to businesses that are actually planning such an investment.
- Another PLN 500 requires signing a long-term rental agreement with PKO Masterlease, also for a minimum of PLN 50,000 net, with collection of the leased item.
- PLN 100 is credited to the account after purchasing PKO Firma insurance with a premium of at least PLN 500, paid either as a lump sum or in instalments.
- The final PLN 300 requires an active e-Accounting service with a chosen package for three consecutive months from account opening, plus paying at least two invoices for that package at the standard price from the business account.
Adding up all five components does indeed come to PLN 5,000, so the headline figure is not inflated — but in practice this is a bonus for an entrepreneur who is going to use leasing, long-term rental, business insurance and paid accounting services anyway, not for someone just looking for an account with a simple sign-up bonus. The "card" portion (up to PLN 3,600) is genuinely easy to obtain; the remaining PLN 1,400 requires additional financial commitments beyond the account itself.
Besides the bonus, the account offers a set of features typical of modern business banking: a mobile app, BLIK payments, NFC support, Google Pay and Apple Pay, a built-in online currency exchange (useful for settlements in foreign currencies) and online accounting available directly from online banking.
Who this account is for
PKO Konto Firmowe works best for entrepreneurs who are just starting out (they benefit from the unconditional fee waiver for the first 6 months) and for businesses with regular, steady incoming payments above PLN 2,000 per month, for whom the account maintenance fee remains zero indefinitely. It is also a sensible choice for businesses that are already planning to use leasing, business insurance or paid online accounting at PKO — in that case they can realistically claim the entire PLN 5,000 bonus. For a business looking purely for a cheap account with no additional commitments, the card portion of the bonus alone (up to PLN 3,600) is still a solid incentive.
How to open an account
The account can be opened by an individual running a business who is at least 18 years old — the bank does not specify an upper age limit. The application is submitted online; after identity verification and basic business data checks, the account is activated, and access to iPKO online banking and the IKO mobile app is granted immediately after opening.
Summary
PKO Konto Firmowe is a solid, flexible business account with a real chance of a zero maintenance fee — both for new and established businesses with regular incoming payments. The headline PLN 5,000 bonus adds up correctly across its five components, but only part of it (up to PLN 3,600 from card payment cashback) is easy to achieve without additional commitments — the rest requires using leasing, long-term rental, business insurance or paid online accounting. For an entrepreneur who needs those products anyway, this account offers genuinely high added value; for someone looking purely for a free account with a simple bonus, it is worth treating the PLN 5,000 figure as a potential, not a guarantee.
