In short: PKO Bank Polski's consolidation loan combines loans from other banks or credit institutions into one instalment. It costs an APRC of 12.14% with a variable interest rate of 11.50%, which puts it in last place, 5th of the 5 consolidation loans in our comparison. Its strength is flexibility: repayment from 2 to 120 months and the option to add up to 30% of the value of the transferred loans as extra cash.

What this loan is and who it is for

This is a consolidation loan, meaning a loan to repay other debts, not one for any purpose. PKO writes: "Debt taken out with other banks or credit institutions is eligible for consolidation". Instead of several instalments in different places, you pay one, at PKO Bank Polski.

The bank stresses that you do not need many loans: "You can transfer even one instalment from another bank". On top of that, "You can additionally receive up to 30% of the value of the transferred loans" for other expenses.

The offer is for someone who is repaying loans outside PKO and wants to simplify repayment or lower the monthly instalment by extending the term.

Interest rate and APRC

The nominal interest rate is 11.50% and it is variable. This is the price of the borrowed capital alone. The APRC is 12.14% and covers all costs of the credit on an annual basis, which is why it is the figure to compare offers by.

A variable rate means the instalment can rise or fall during repayment. With a term of up to 120 months that risk lasts a long time, so check whether you could cope with a higher instalment.

In the representative example the instalments are equal: you pay the same amount throughout, only the last instalment differs (assuming the rate does not change).

Against the market: among the 5 consolidation loans in our comparison (as of 15 October 2026), this offer ranks 5th, meaning it has the highest APRC. The median APRC is 9.15%; the lowest APRC belongs to Bank Pekao ("Pożyczka Konsolidacyjna", 8.09%). This compares offers listed on BankSorter, not the whole market.

Total cost

PKO gives a representative example calculated on 21 September 2026. It is an example based on specific assumptions, not a guarantee of identical terms for every customer. The bank notes that the figures depend on the payout date and the date of the first instalment.

  • total amount of credit: PLN 54,700.00,
  • 85 equal monthly instalments of PLN 937.00 and a final instalment of PLN 905.59,
  • total cost of credit: PLN 25,850.62 (fee PLN 0.00, interest PLN 25,850.62),
  • total amount payable: PLN 80,550.62,
  • APRC 12.14%, variable interest rate 11.50%.

In this example the fee is PLN 0.00. The offer page does not state a general fee rule separately, so confirm it in the information form before signing the agreement.

We did the maths

Cost of every PLN 100. We divide the total cost of credit by the total amount of credit and multiply by 100: PLN 25,850.62 / PLN 54,700.00 × 100 = PLN 47.26. That is how much interest you pay on every PLN 100 borrowed when repaying in 86 instalments, as in the bank's example.

Extra cash limit. The bank lets you add up to 30% of the value of the transferred loans. If you transfer loans worth PLN 40,000, the extra cash can be up to PLN 12,000 (PLN 40,000 × 30%). Remember that the extra cash increases the amount you borrow.

The takeaway from both figures: consolidating over a long term lowers the instalment but raises the total cost. With 86 instalments, interest comes to almost half of the amount borrowed.

Requirements and safeguards

  • Creditworthiness: the bank says granting the loan depends on it.
  • What can be consolidated: debt taken out with other banks or credit institutions.
  • Repayment period: from 2 to 120 months.
  • Amount: the offer page gives no minimum or maximum amount. It only shows that you can add up to 30% of the value of the transferred loans as extra cash, and that granting the loan depends on creditworthiness.
  • Insurance and spouse's consent: the offer page does not give this information and our database does not have it either. Ask the adviser.

How to apply. On the offer page PKO describes three steps: book a meeting with an adviser, bring your loan agreements to a branch, and after receiving the decision sign the agreement at the branch. You can also fill in a form and the bank will call you back. The same page mentions applying in the online service or the app, so confirm which route is available to you with the adviser.

Who it is for

The loan suits someone who has one or more loans with other banks, wants to pay a single instalment at PKO and needs a long repayment period or a small amount of extra cash.

Not for you if…

  • you want to consolidate loans you already have with PKO: the offer page only refers to debt with other banks or credit institutions, so ask the adviser,
  • you want the lowest APRC: in our comparison this offer has the highest APRC of 5,
  • you do not accept the risk of a rising instalment: the rate is variable,
  • your current loans have an APRC below 12.14%: moving them here may raise the cost.

Watch out for

  • A longer term means a lower instalment but a higher total cost. In the bank's example interest is PLN 25,850.62 on an amount of PLN 54,700.00.
  • Extra cash (up to 30% of the transferred loans) increases the loan amount.
  • The PLN 0.00 fee comes from the representative example. The offer page says nothing about insurance, and no information does not mean no cost.

Verdict

PKO Bank Polski's consolidation loan is flexible: repayment from 2 to 120 months, the option to transfer even one instalment and up to 30% extra cash. On cost, however, it does poorly: an APRC of 12.14% is the highest result among the 5 offers in our comparison, and the rate is variable. Before deciding, compare the APRC of your current loans with this loan's APRC and check offers with a lower APRC.
